About Us

Hi! We’re Ro & K, a sibling duo reporting on new and innovative technologies that catch our attention. We each have our own opinions and backgrounds (which we are continuing to shape on a daily basis), so you should get a pretty holistic story from us. This blog is aimed at college students and young professionals (though we welcome anyone and everyone to this site). We’re still figuring things out, but we hope to have something for you to read every week. And hey, if you’d like to contribute or have stuff you want us to write about, don’t hesitate to contact us at detechd [at] gmail [dot] com.

Kartik: Hi, Ro.
me: Do you want to start a tech blog with me?
Kartik: I’m busy right now.
me: Okay, so just read this later, but basically, I’m thinking that we can write about new “tech” things out there. I have that psychology, “user experience” perspective and you have the technical expertise.

Kartik: I’m working right now.
me: Okay think about it.

me: So, have you had a chance to think about our blog? You don’t seem too enthusiastic about it.
Kartik: I don’t know what I’m doing.
me: Well that’s what we have to discuss. Informative, humorous, aimed at the younger demographic. College students and just-out-of-college “young professionals.” There are tons of tech blogs out there but nothing specifically to this age you know?
Kartik: I want to write tech in the YDN next year. Check out my Facebook Wall.
me: Can we talk in a bit about the blog instead? Also, I have an idea. I want to do a book review as one of my posts. And you know, it doesn’t have to be only reviews of tech products. We could disconnect ourselves from technology, write about that.

Kartik: Okay, well I’m reading right now, so I’ll talk to you later.
me: Alright well tell me when you want to discuss.

Kartik: I was thinking, maybe we can have readers send us topics they want us to write about.
me: Wow, your first good idea. And some guest authors perhaps.

Kartik: I may need your iPad to test stuff.
me: Nope.
Kartik: What do you mean?
me: Do you watch Modern Family?
Kartik: No. What do you mean? Of course you’re going to let me use it from time to time.
me: Nope.
Kartik: I’m so excited for shooting HD video with my new iPhone. The Flip is completely killed now.

Kartik: Can you log onto iChat?
me: Can we just do this on Gchat?
Kartik: Open iChat. Add an account and input your Gmail account. It should be pretty self-explanatory.
me: Where is “Add an account”?
Kartik: Preferences. So Command + Comma, and then Accounts, and you can add it.
me: Okay did it. I don’t like this one bit. Can we just talk from the browser?
Kartik: You need to log out of Gmail. Or close it.

me: No.
Kartik: Then sign out of chat from Gmail.
me: No. Kartik, let’s do this from Gmail please.
Kartik: Just close the Gmail window.
me: It’s much easier from gmail. We don’t even need video chat for this. just open up the Google doc.
Kartik: No
me: I don’t like all this extra stuff open with iChat.
Kartik: You can close the window. Way to go, you ended the iChat video conference.
me: See you on Gchat.
Kartik: Just close your browser. It’s higher quality on iChat. I don’t understand why you’re unwilling to embrace better technology.
me: That’s really unimportant.

me: Stop making this so difficult.
Kartik: You make it difficult, too. There’s no way we can co-author posts.
me: Yeah, let’s just each do individual posts.
Kartik: You should’ve titled this post “Sibling Rivalry.”
me: Well maybe if you were easier to deal with “Sibling Revelry” would have worked. It’s so clever.
Kartik: And by the way, how come you get to be “me”?
me: Because we’re copying and pasting it from my Gchat
Kartik: Why can’t we copy it from mine?
me: Because. No.
